Following a request on Facebook and an invitation to the local community for volunteers, we are delighted to welcome on board 17 new people to the YMCA South Molton volunteering team.

The volunteers, including 5 young leaders who have grown up in the YMCA South Molton clubs, will begin supporting each of the weekly activities taking place at the centre on Mill Street.

From multi-generational gardening and maintenance, to running kid’s clubs and drop-in sessions, volunteers lie at the heart of the YMCA and we are delighted to bring so many on board.

The new team of volunteers have each received training in the areas of safeguarding, conversation starters and health & safety and social media.

Amy Somerwill, Youth & Community Worker at YMCA South Molton says, “I have been overwhelmed by the number of generous people willing to give their time and effort to support the services we provide. Their service really will enrich the experiences of young people in our town and will be the foundation to enhancing the activities we have to offer”.
